Each year, the Foundation awards two $250 grants from a pool of Winona Area Public Schools staff members who generously donate to the Foundation through payroll deduction. The awards are used to further the Foundation’s mission of enriching and enhancing educational opportunities in WAPS.
This year’s grant winners were Cody Weadge and Jennifer Walters!
In his Career Exploration class at Winona Middle School, Mr. Weadge teaches about healthy digital habits and balancing screen time with other activities. This includes a screen time reduction challenge. To help form these healthy habits, Mr. Weadge used his Foundation grant award to purchase board games and card games for his classroom.
